Writer's Block: Two Tickets to Paradise
If you won two free round-trip plane tickets anywhere in the world, where would you go and who would you bring?

Two tickets? No prizes for guessing who I'd take.
Definately Samuel... :P LOL
J/K
Definately Stephen - and to answer the question fully, I'd have to concsult with the other traveller!

There are many places I'd like to go - and as this is a make-believe situation, I can go to all of them, right?

I'd definatly have to go to Scotland and Ireland. I've always wanted to go there. I guess it's in my blood... They're both places of such natural beauty, as well as my obvious facination for Scottish Dancing.

I'd also go to Egypt - doesn't everyone want to see the Pyramids and the Sphinx (amongst other things!)?

I'd also like to explore more of Germany; I certainly didn't spend enough time there during WYD. It's been somewhere I've wanted to go for a long time - even before my brief studies of the language. Speaking of "not there long enough", I'd also spend longer in the Greek Islands, particularly on Santorini. VERY pretty... and there's some fond memories attatched too.

I'd also go to Africa. I'd want to travel to different countries, but particularly including Uganda and South Africa.

I'd go to the Israel too, for obvious reasons...

I'd also spend another few days in East Timor. I've kind of told myself that I wouldn't go back until I'd learnt more of the language (I was starting to get frustrated about that last time I was there), but I'd want to take Stephen there. Because there's something about it that you can't put in to words, you just have to experience.

I'd go to Antartica too - I think it'd just be increadible to explore.
And then, of course, I'd have to go somewhere warm (Vanuatu perhaps??) to recover from the cold... :D

And now that I am completely caught up with the travel bug again, I might go. Because I could go on and on about all the places I want to go for a lot longer yet!

Other things
Well, the last two weeks have not been the most pleasant.Collapse )

In other news, yesterday marks the most amazing 3 months of my life so far. :D
I'm hopelessly in love, and not afraid to admit it!! LOL
I'm so very, very, VERY lucky - and I'd say that even if I had recieved beautiful flowers to mark the occasion! ;-)

Yesterday also saw Michelle, Joe and Samuel visit - and I'll post photos when I'm able.
Yeah, need that working computer first...
*sigh*
(I'm on Louise's computer right now, under the guise of sending the APA an email...)

Hmmmph, I better go.
I hope to actually be able to read my friends LJs, one of these days! Hope everyone is well.

In five easy steps...
How to annoy an Anna, in 5 easy steps

1. Leave her a note, in the morning, when she has mere minutes before needing to leave for work. Make it pointed, regarding the washing up in the sink.

2. Don't forget to use underlining and exclamation marks, just in case you point wasn't clear enough...

3. Leave this note during a week where Anna has been sick, and where she is STILL waiting on test results.

4. Leave this note on the 2nd day of Anna's period.

5. Make reference to this situation during the day in front of Anna's colleagues.

This "mess" being referred to consisted of:
1. A saucepans - which had previously contained rice - with water in it, soaking.
2. 3 chopping boards (2 of which won't fit in the dishwasher, and which needs to be done by hand).
3. A bowl (which had contained my dinner).
4. Half a dozen glasses/mugs (some of which had been from mum/visitors on weekend).

Oh, and did I mention that in the few 15 mins I had to get ready, and clean up this "mess" I also had to unpack the dishwasher so as to be actually able to do something with said "mess". In the end, I had to leave the 2 chopping boards and drive to work to be able to get there in time for briefing.
This was not the start I wanted to my day.

(PS Appologies for 1st entry in a while being a gripe. But I needed to vent, yeah?)

26 days...
I got back half an hour ago from dropping Stephen at the airport - quite honestly, one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. His flight had been delayed 40 minutes, which gave us a little more time, but still didn't make the goodbyes any easier...
*sigh*

Friday night was a lovely night, dinner at Stone Restaurant, followed by TaikOz Pearl, at QPAC. We had front row tickets (right on one side, which was a little annoying though...), which was awesome. I very much enjoyed the night - for many reasons!

Saturday was much more low-key - movies, mass and the like. We tried to pick up the painting which I'd bought at the Stella Maris fete last weekend, but it was too big for the car! Anyone want to pick up a 1.2m x 1.2m painting from the shop in Maroochydore, and drop it to me in Caloundra, would they?!?!?! LOL

This morning however, we were driving to Brisbane for lunch - Stephen, Mum, Dad, Michelle, Joe, Samuel and myself. An interesting experience to say the least! However, everyone behaved themselves (phew!), and all in all I think it went well. I hope so, anyways!
Samuel, of course, was his usual cute and excitable self. :D

Anyway, I'm completely zonked now. Am going to toddle off now in to bed.
'Night all!

An ever-so-quick post
Bah. I hate not having a working computer. I can't read or update LJ nearly enough! LOL

I'm at mum & dad's now - hence the post. I came down tonight for Sarah's graduation shindig... via the Scotia Highland Dancing competition. It reminded me again just how much I want to dance again. Not just as in do lessons, but to do my teachers exam. And you know what? I think I want to compete again too. There was a section there - the one that I would have been in if I'd entered - where I could/would have medelled in.
I have a bigger musing there, but one which will not come out due to tiredness at the moment. Perhaps another time...

Tomorrow I'm playing at the Stella Maris (Maroochydore) fete - accompaning the strings. Which means I've got to leave The Gap at a very unreasonable time for a Sunday morning! lol

However, I can't wait till next weekend. Stephen's down! :D
He's meeting my parents too, which shall be interesting, to say the least!

Anyway, I'm going to head.
'Night all!

Mwah ha ha ha ha....
Believe it or not, my computer is actually ON at the moment!
So I'm taking the opportunity to upload some photos on to photobucket and post them here. Because if I only copy them on to my computer I may never see them again... lol

So there'll probably be a few posts in the next little while.
Including ones that may very well be of little interest to the majority of the world.

You have been warned.;-)

Jericho
Well I'm back in Bris. And, to be frank, I wish I wasn't.

I can't articulate what the last 10 days were like.
People have asked me what I "did" there... but even if I described it in infinate detail, it'd still be missing something. Because that's not what made such an impact on me.

Perhaps later I shall tell of some "things" that I did. Perhaps not.
But what I will say right now is that (as much as I can internally deduce anyway) during the last 8 weeks I have learnt more than any other 2 month period in my 23 years.

And I wouldn't change a single moment of it.

Happy day
I'm at my Mum & Dad's.
School is finished for the semester, and holidays have finally arrived.

Tomorrow morning, I leave for Townsville. Needless to say I am really, really glad that the holidays are here. :D

I'll get back in time for Samuel's birthday, and birthday party.
I popped in to see him ever so briefly this afternoon and he was very excited to see me. :-)

Reports are done, and I'm not even thinking about the planning I should be doing...at least for a few days.

For now, I'm haveing a break.
A holiday.

And I can't fuckin wait.

Tagged by snap_crackle

Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
* At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
* Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.

1. I conducted my first ensemble (the school band) when I was in Grade 7.
2. I love having bubble baths while enjoying a glass of wine.
3. Despite a crappy week, I’ve never been happier then I am right now.
4. I would happily teach Maths (Year 8 we’re talking).
5. My fingers are freezing right now.
6. I have a blue hippo, named Russell, sitting on my bed.
7. Of the DVDs I own, the only ones I’ve watched is Season One of Babylon 5.
8. I’m thinking of buying a cello.

The week that was...
[A public apology once more for not reading/commenting on others' LJs. My computer is still being a complete pain... which is why I could. not. believe. that it actually turned on for me today...!]

You know how there are days when you just should not have got out of bed?
Well, as I remarked to a colleague, this was a week that I should not have got out of bed.Collapse )

2:30 pm
I'm entitled to a winge. After all, it's my LJ. :-P
I'm sitting here at home. Why? Because my body really does hate me at the moment. Well, that's how it feels anyway. Apparently, it wasn't enough for me to be having some test-defying stomach "thing" for 6 weeks.
Oh no.
I have to go back to having over-the-top period pain again. I haven't thrown up (yet) like sometimes happens, but I've felt like that might happen a few times today. Been feeling hot and cold (mostly the latter) all day though. Not to mention the cramps.
Did I mention that it was about 2 weeks early too?
*headdesk*

Other than that, I'm completely stuffed when it comes to reports. And I mean completely. Which, really, is the time you need to pull late nights etc to get it done - except, you know, my body doesn't seem able to right now...

We have a debate tonight. I have rehearsals for concerts that we don't have a HOPE in being ready for.

And I've been lying in bed for the past 4 hrs.
And I feel like going back.

PS. One bit of good news though - Jimmy's at the coast at the moment, doing prac. And he's coming over for dinner tomorrow night! It'll be so good to catch up with him, that's it worth extra work at another time to make it happen. I'm really looking forward to it actually.

Before disapearing into the sunset...
I should probably mention a few other things while I still have access to a computer that turns on... (Because unfortunately, mine at home is not doing that at the moment... *sigh*)

School is really busy - I am SO behind in marking, and reports are due Wednesday week. There will be late nights ahead, to get it done. Unfortunately.

The fact that there are 2 music concerts comming up shortly is somewhat worrying. I feel there is so so much to be done, and yet finding the time to prepare the groups (not to mention the other logistics) is difficult.

Our debating team has their last debate on Wednesday night. It's short preparation (ie they get their topic only 1 hour before they present). I worry for them.

While my application for leave-without-pay was approved, I'm still yet to hear back from NYCA about weather my audition was successful or not. Every day, I'm more and more convinced therefore that I have not got in.
I will phone tomorrow for confirmation.

All I can hope is that these weeks go increadibly quickly, because for me, the holidays can't come soon enough!
1:30 am
Well, that went better than expected
I've been down this weekend for the last weekend of the 3-6 Year Old Child Part One of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd training (yeah, bit of a mouthful I know!).

Samuel was SO excited to see me on Friday afternoon - I'd forgoten how much I missed him. He had to show me everything... but mostly he just ran around saying "Anna" at the start of everything - I think he just liked being able to say my name again after not having seen me for a bit. :D

Yeah. Dotting Aunty shutting up now... LOL

Being around the family this weekend did mean one thing though...I had to tell them my news.Collapse )

Wahoo!
My debating team won tonight!

It was their first win - and my first win as coach - so we were all very excited. I was so proud of them all.
